Hood River

On the way to our next national park, we stopped in to visit with Michelle’s friends Ed & Anita McReynolds in Hood River, OR.

As this was Independence Day we made it in time for the Hood River July 4th Parade. The parade reminded us of the parade that we enjoy every year with our family in Wellfleet. Both parades have that small town feel, although Wellfleet does not have a mounted band (which was very cool). Wellfleet does have our extended family which are always fun to have around.

At the parade, we happen to run into Keegan’s friend Kirk Skully and his family. Kirk was on his way to Windell’s Ski Camp on Mt Hood and t he family made a trip of it.

After the parade we joined Ed & Anita for some short hikes to enjoy the beauty of the area and then down to Hood River to watch windsurfing and Kiteboarding. After returning to the McReyond’s home overlooking the Hood River valley, we had a great dinner and slept in the RV on the street in front of their house.

In the morning we had a great breakfast at Bette’s on Hood River (defiantly a must stop if in the area) and we hit the road once again.
