Kayaking in Glacier Bay

Our first full day at Glacier Bay we went sea kayaking. It was our family, three other people and two guides. After getting a short lesson on how to kayak, we were off and heading up the bay.

Our guide from Glacier Bay Sea Kayaking was Carole and she helped make the trip special. She was very knowledgeable in the local wildlife and has a very interesting past that she shared with us. She also explained isotonic rebound and its role in Glacier Bay.

In terms of wildlife, we saw sea lions, sea otters, bald eagles, harbor seals, lots of gulls, and a bunch of things that live under the rocks in the tidal zone.
