Laird Hot Springs

One of our stops on the Alaska Highway was at the provincial park at Laird Hot Springs. We set up our campsite and walked up the hill to the hot springs. There were two different areas we visited.

The first was the upper springs, which was a pond sized pool about the size of half a high school swimming pool. It was 3 meters deep with very steep sides so you needed to be swimming to enjoy the hot water.

Down lower was the main pool which was only waste deep and even had benches underwater that you could sit on. The water temperature was said to be around 104 degrees, the same as our hot tub, but the closer you got to the source spring, the hotter it got.

After soaking for about an hour, we returned to the campsite and relaxed reading, sleeping or typing blog posts.
